Today on Trend Following Radio Michael Covel starts the podcast off talking about President Obama and his recent visit to Asia. Michael had an interesting bird’s eye look at the President’s visit. He describes the the reaction to President Obama’s visit and why Obama deserves credit for normalizing relations with Vietnam.

Michael moves into talking about free market systems and the necessity for them. Venezuela is a perfect example of a failed socialistic state. They are failing big time with no sign of recovery. Michael moves into reading from an article written by David Sirota from 2013. Sirota thought that Hugo Chavez was an amazing leader three years ago. However, in 2016 Sirota goes on to say that oil is killing the economy rather than socialism.

In this episode of Trend Following Radio:

  • Venezuela
  • Hugo Chavez
  • Negative interest rate policy
  • Trading off politics

I understood that Venezuala's problems(apart from gross mismanagement) were a lot to do with corruption at the highest levels.Socialist governments seem particularly prone to corruption!
The US government seems corrupt also.
I am Australian, where we have enormous welfare for the less well off. I pay near 50% tax, while low income earners pay little or no tax and receive all sorts of welfare payments. I think Australia is rather socialistic. Government controls everything. There is little incentive to
work more. I would leave, but wouldnt know where to go.
Obama's visit to Vietnam was more to do with gathering allies around China. Do you really think him that altruistic? He is ensuring industrial military complex gets what it wants. He was bought and paid for long ago, a puppet for Deep State that is all. I have no real opinion of Obama. I just see a very dangerous group of neoconservative war mongers at the helm of the US.

I'm doing these comments as I listen to this.!!!!

Careful Micheal you may be accused of being a patriot.

Hey it's not cool to look down,or up the barrel of a Weapon, especially when it's a friendly.

Oh my have you admitted to knowing about agent orange???

Now you have gone to preaching about patriotism, my my my!!!!

Bail outs yes they did didn't they, and yea it is a failure along with being a failed state.

We don't need Chavez that's for sure.

And what is this country going to do,implode, wait did you not just say that about Venezuela.

Thinking so whats your point Micheal?????

And it's not a laughing matter in the USA either, but that's what these fools want.

Way too go Micheal, I hope as I'm sure you don't, that all this shit is not going to be the USA soon. It seems like, acording to Jim any way that it is starting right now, to which I disagree, you see it all started the moment GOD revealed to man.So it has really been going on a long time, and if you believe as i do, it will have to get worse and then even worse then that. The cool part to it is, that we the neding already, and I think that is so cool, And also hope and pray that the U>S> stay's hanging in there for ISRAEL for all our sacks. Any way GOOD JOB keep it up.

    Thanks,

    Guy Wagner
